Preschool Vision Development- How To Teach Your Child The Skills They Need

Preschool is a time of tremendous development in almost every area of your child's life. Chief among the physical developments is that of a child is the development of vision, which is the key sense involved in almost every aspect of a child's learning. So it makes sense that, if a child's visual development is reduced or stunted, then their ability to learn to read and write can be severely compromised.

I am not saying that preschool children have trouble seeing things clearly. For most children, a brief conversation should satisfy you that they are seeing fairly well, and that they can see objects and shapes around them in the world. they see color, texture and form, but this is not what concerns me the most.

Preschool Vision

Vision is not simply seeing! Vision is both seeing and understanding or interpreting the world around us, and many of the key skills that children will need to read, write and spell involve complex visual skills. For the preschool child, it is not enough to simply see letters and begin to read. They must understand them, be able to note the key differences between them, recognize the coding, the sequence and the sound each letter represents. Then they have to have an adequately developed visual memory, which will enable them to commit this series of shapes into letters and then words which carry meaning and significance.

Believe me, i have no trouble seeing Chinese letters. But I have no hope in attempting to understand them or make sense of them. I don't know the code, and if a preschool child fails to develop the necessary visual skills, they will have as much chance of reading English as I do of reading Chinese!

These visual skills develop naturally over time, however in many children with learning disabilities, they do not develop quickly enough, causing the child to lag behind their peers in reading, writing and spelling. As a Behavioral Optometrist, I see these kids in later grades, and I am able to train their visual skills, thereby accelerate their learning ability. We most often have spectacular results, but my next thought was, why not apply the same therapies to help children BEFORE they are struggling with full blown learning disabilities.

Preschool Vision Therapy

That's why I have developed a special series of therapies designed to help preschool children develop the visual skills that they need to learn quickly and effectively to read, write and spell. I have spent 2 years correlating these, and early tests show them yielding sensational results for improving the learning potential of preschool children. I've made them simple, easy to follow, easy to apply and extremely effective, and for the first time ever I am releasing them over the internet. They also represent the most inexpensive therapy that I know of in the world today.
